about

The PECT, or the PsychoState Enhancement Cassette Tape, is a relatively new creation of unknown origin. Its colourful, harmless appearance belies the dreadful things it can do to the human mind. // It is well known that Sinking is common when using a D Movie. But it is, in fact, possible for a user to not become a Sinker while using a D Movie. Of course, through prolonged use and extended periods of activity, Sinking will be initiated. // The PECT, however, guarantees that a D Movie user will become a Sinker, removing chance, giving the user the choice to Sink. If a person wants to Sink, for example to witness a PsychoStream, they can do so by merely listening to the audio on the cassette tape before using their D Movie. // Our TechLab engineers have been able to understand how the PECT functions. The tape’s audio begins with sounds of rushing water. A digital voice welcomes the listener, and then recites seemingly nonsense words, likely mind control data. The tape then continues with music that sustains the inflicted brain state and loops at the end. Somehow, in a way that we do not yet fully comprehend, this string of words, of numbers, appears to write a certain type of BioCode inside the mind, like a computer virus. It primes the brain to Sink.// Data has shown the listener suffers substantial brainwave interruptions, damaging the chemical and electrical impulses of neurons in their brain, the effects of which, if use is continued, can be permanent. // The PECT is a neurological and psychological attack on the mind. It must be outlawed. It is currently under review by The National Public Security Commission to be classified as an illegal addictive substance, which would effectively ban its use. —Dr. Koyuki Mizuhashi. January, 1992
